Cancellation Notice - Oxford Reports in International Law (2 modules: Human Rights and Criminal Law)

Cancellation Notice - Oxford Reports in International Law (2 modules: Human Rights and Criminal Law)

Cost of resource: $10,511.08 USD

Reasons for cancellation:

  • Content: These publications provide a very narrow focus of legal analysis in areas that generally fall outside of Guelph’s established curricular and research strengths in Canadian criminal law, criminology, judicial and legal studies, and international development. They are also highly legal-technical in their analysis, making much of their content inaccessible to students studying law topics through a social sciences or legal studies lens.
  • Usage: Usage is extremely low for these publications and does not justify the high cost per publication.

Date access will cease: January 1, 2020

Alternate resources: The library will continue to maintain access to related law resources from Oxford, which enjoy much higher use: The Max Planck Encyclopedia of Public International Law (an accessible reference resource covering a wider array of international law topics) and Oxford Constitutions of the World.

Library users also enjoy a robust collection of legal research materials at the University of Guelph. For access to case law and legal analysis, the library subscribes to Lexis Advance QuickLaw, WestlawNext Canada, and The Lawyer’s Daily. For access to secondary literature, the library subscribes to HeinOnline, Criminal Justice Abstracts, PAIS, and Worldwide Political Science Abstracts.
